THE BLACK MEN REDEFINING STYLE, LEGACY & CULTURE
In a moment where the world feels heavy, fragmented, and uncertain, something undeniable is rising in downtown Chicago something rooted in vision, crafted in community, and powered by the brilliance of Black men who create from legacy and lead from purpose.
Inside H&M’s flagship locations across Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and New York, a cultural shift is unfolding.
The Style Shop, nationwide pop-up curated by Maison Black, the powerhouse platform founded by designer and cultural architect Tori Nichel is taking over coast to coast. What began as a partnership rooted in fashion has evolved into a movement, transforming major cities into stages that spotlight Black men who are redefining style, storytelling, craftsmanship, and the future of consumer culture. From the West Coast to the Midwest to the South to the East, The Style Shop isn’t just opening doors it’s opening possibilities, platforms, and pathways for Black creativity to thrive nationwide.
Shawn Artis (Artist), Sebastian Jackson (Grooming Founder), Maya Winston (Luxury Handbag Designer), and Dennis Snipes (Artist & Hat Designer) represent the expanse of Black creativity. Together, they form a constellation of craftsmanship and innovation, each one forging a lane that stretches far beyond product and deep into purpose.
This is not just a retail experience.
This is cultural elevation.
WHY THIS MOMENT MATTERS
Maison Black’s collaboration with H&M is intentional, values-driven, and strategically designed to create economic access for Black creatives. While the cultural climate is wrestling with boycotts, inequity, and industry fatigue, this partnership stands firm in its mission:
Invest in Black designers.
Amplify Black storytellers.
Fuel Black businesses.
Build Black legacy.
And in the words of H&M’s own:
“We’re thrilled to showcase such a diverse array of Black designers and creatives within H&M stores this holiday season. Thanks to Maison Black’s expert curation, customers can explore an incredible assortment in addition to womenswear, beauty, and home products, they’ll also discover bold art, male grooming essentials, and standout menswear, all celebrating the richness of Black creativity.”

This is what it looks like when global brands don’t just talk about equity they act. They invest. They move.
MEET THE MEN OF THE STYLE SHOP
THE ARTIST WHO TURNS EMOTION INTO LIBERATION

Houston-based visual artist Shawn Artis brings a depth to The Style Shop that you don’t just see you feel. Adopted at birth and never having met his biological parents, Shawn built his identity through creation, turning art into both compass and lifeline. “I use art as a form of self-therapy. As storytelling. As a platform for problem-solving and creating spaces where we can dialog safely,” he shares. His murals, public works, and fine art don’t simply decorate walls they confront silence, spark necessary conversations, and reveal the emotional landscapes Black men navigate daily. Shawn creates beauty with purpose, dismantling stereotypes and replacing them with truth, vulnerability, and power. “I want people to know they can buy art from a real person and have a story connected to it someone who looks like them, telling the stories the way they should be told,” he says. His presence in The Style Shop is important and essential a reminder that art is not a luxury for our community; it is healing, history, and hope made visible.

THE BARBER WHO BUILT A BIOTECH GROOMING BRAND

For more than twenty years, Detroit native and master barber Sebastian Jackson has shaped identity from behind the chair, creating a cultural hub through his celebrated Social Club Grooming Company, where he served over 15,000 clients, partnered with the NFL and NBA, and even saw his intellectual property licensed by LeBron James. Yet his most profound innovation emerged from a problem he witnessed daily: hair loss among Black men. Refusing to accept it as inevitable, Sebastian founded Saint Martin, a trichology-driven grooming brand rooted in science, scalp health, and restoring confidence. The road, however, has not been without challenge. “I thought Big Sean would post it. Jalen Rose. All these celebrities. And that didn’t happen,” he admits. But that honesty only deepens the significance of this moment and this platform. “This opportunity gives us the validation we need to keep going. It shows we’re doing the right thing especially because only 2% of Black founders raise venture capital. These partnerships help us grow, hire, and scale.” What Sebastian is building transcends grooming; it is the intersection of science, culture, identity, and hope a new blueprint for what Black men’s care can look and feel like.

THE LUXURY BAG MAKER CREATING HERITAGE PIECES FOR THE FUTURE

The name Maya Winston turns heads by design an intentional tribute to the father he lost, and a commitment to keeping Winston’s legacy alive through craftsmanship and storytelling. Raised by a mother and three sisters, Maya’s world has always been shaped by the strength, grace, and brilliance of women, which is why he began his brand not to sell to women, but to honor them. “I didn’t start this to sell to women. I started it to celebrate women,” he says. With over a decade of production experience across global factories, Maya creates luxury handbags defined by quality, accessibility, and cultural reverence pieces crafted not for trends but for time. As he puts it, “My story doesn’t even start until 10–15 years from now, when a daughter opens her mother’s closet and asks, ‘What’s this piece?’ That’s when the Maya Winston story really begins.” And as a visible Black man designing in a category largely dominated by women, his presence carries its own power: “As a Black man uplifting Black women, I want the culture to see that I’m here for them. That’s my place in the ecosystem.” His brand is more than accessories; it is lineage, love, and legacy stitched with intention and built for generations.

THE HAT MAKER TURNING ARCHITECTURE INTO CULTURE

In Houston’s rich and ever-evolving creative landscape, Dennis stands as a true renaissance craftsman part architect, part artist, part photographer, and fully a vessel of style, culture, and storytelling. A native Houstonian shaped by his background in architecture and the arts, he infuses structure, texture, and soul into every hat he designs, transforming each piece and his immersive “hat bar” experience into personal artifacts of identity. “Fashion is an archetype that I share with the world as a gift that keeps on giving. I believe in storytelling and style being a part of that. I am a man of many hats, and this is my way of displaying that for the people,” he explains. His creative reach extends far beyond fashion; as a photographer published by National Geographic, Dennis carries a global lens and a local heartbeat, capturing culture and crafting it with equal intention. So when the call came to join The Style Shop, his response was pure gratitude: “My reaction was full of gratitude just really happy to be a part of it.” His work turns culture into craft, craft into connection, and connection into community one hat, one story, one moment at a time.

THE IMPACT — MORE THAN A POP-UP, THIS IS AN ECOSYSTEM
Through The Style Shop, Maison Black and H&M are doing more than retail they are building an infrastructure where Black creatives don’t just survive, they scale.
Tori Nichel summarizes the heart of it all:
“There’s a way to boycott and protect your values, but also protect our community. Q4 is how consumer goods brands keep their lights on for next year. These pop-ups are lifelines.”
~ Tori Nichel
In a year marked by cuts, uncertainty, and shifting priorities, these men and Maison Black are showing what happens when community becomes strategy, when collaboration becomes culture, and when legacy becomes the loudest statement in the room.
This is how you shop intentionally.
This is how you uplift Black business.
This is how you honor the ecosystem.

THIS IS NOT JUST STYLE. THIS IS PROOF.
Proof that Black men are artists, innovators, architects, and storytellers.
Proof that our creativity is an economic engine.
Proof that opportunity multiplies when platforms are intentional.
Proof that fashion is culture and culture is ours.
The Style Shop is more than a destination.
It is a declaration:
We didn’t just make it.
We made it matter.
We made it beautiful.
We made it ours.
And in the words of Tori:
“Here we are. Here are our Black men. Support them intentionally.”
