My Sister’s Supporter, a powerful new initiative that centers Black men as active supporters, allies, and co-conspirators in uplifting Black women across vital issues, officially launches today with a special focus on breast cancer awareness. Developed in collaboration with renowned oncologist Dr. Wendy Garvin Mayo and the Collaborative Cancer Center, the initiative highlights how Black men can play a critical role in breast cancer prevention, detection, and support. This initiative is part of the ongoing mission of TheBlackManCan, a nonprofit organization founded by visionary leader Dr. Brandon Frame, which is dedicated to amplifying the positive narratives and impact of Black men worldwide.
With media coverage from BlackDoctor.org, My Sister’s Supporter will feature a special webinar for men, offering guidance on how they can support the women in their lives through the breast cancer journey. The series emphasizes the importance of early detection, emotional support during treatment, and advocacy for healthcare access, encouraging men to take a proactive role.

A key highlight of the launch is a moving video, co-created with Dr. Wendy Garvin Mayo, that will be showcased at the prestigious Pink Tea event in Connecticut, a gathering dedicated to raising awareness and support for breast cancer survivors and their families. The video underscores the vital role men can play in standing in solidarity with women and supporting them in meaningful ways during the breast cancer experience.

Dr. Brandon Frame, Founder of TheBlackManCan, shared his thoughts on the initiative: “My Sister’s Supporter is an extension of our mission at TheBlackManCan to uplift Black men as role models, allies, and change agents in our communities. By focusing on breast cancer, we’re educating and mobilizing men to be there for the women they love, whether through early detection efforts or being advocates for better healthcare access.”
The collaboration with Dr. Wendy Garvin Mayo and Collaborative Cancer Center ensures that the content is not only impactful but also medically sound, equipping men with the tools they need to have important conversations and provide support at every stage of the breast cancer journey.
