When Archie Clay III walks into a room, you don’t just feel his confidence you feel his conviction. It’s the kind of grounded energy that comes from knowing exactly who you are, where you’ve been, and who poured into you along the way. “I’m just an individual that’s really focused on inspiring and motivating the next generation,” he says. “But also motivating us to understand that mental health and our minds and our brains play a major role in being successful not just financially, but in life and in joy.”
Clay, the Founder and CEO of Brain Love, has created more than a fashion brand. He’s building a movement one rooted in self-awareness, purpose, and evolution. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and raised on Atlanta’s East Side, he carries both southern humility and urban edge. A proud graduate of Tuskegee University, he found his creative spark on campus, watching a melting pot of styles on Fried Chicken Wednesdays. “Everybody was fly,” he laughs. “You had people from New York, Cali, Chicago it was a full melting pot. That opened my eyes to how fashion can be a form of self-expression.”
That sense of self-expression grew into vision. “At Brain Love, we say we’re the merge of Patagonia from an impact perspective, but the cool factor of Aime Leon Dore,” Archie explains. “We’re providing the best quality product to our customer but also value, impact, and purpose.”
The Roots of Resilience
Archie’s story isn’t one of overnight success. It’s a story of divine timing and determination. After college, he cycled through retail jobs—Target, JCPenney, Marshalls, Burlington each stop shaping his understanding of product, people, and perseverance. Then came entrepreneurship. “God positioned me to create a hat company,” he recalls of his first venture, Wear Brims. “That was my first baby. My first phase of being an entrepreneur truly. Regardless of what happened, I’m proud of that.”
That experience became the foundation for Brain Love. The name itself carries a powerful backstory. “Originally, it was called Brainchild,” he says. “But we found out another company had that name. I prayed about it, and God told me, ‘Remove your perspective and just let it flow.’ That’s how Brain Love came.”
Then came the revelation: loving your mind, loving your process, loving your growth. “You have to love the journey,” he says. “Because what happens when things aren’t going your way? You need love to push through. The same love you have for your wife, your mom that unconditional love you need that for yourself.”
Faith, Partnership, and Power
If there’s one constant in Clay’s life, it’s faith and family. He speaks about his wife with a reverence that makes the room quiet. “My wife came into my life at the peak of my entrepreneurial journey,” he shares. “When I lost my job, she looked at me and said, ‘Baby, God is telling you to go full time.’ She saw more in me than I saw in myself. That’s the kind of support that changes everything.”
He smiles before adding, “Marrying her was my game changer. My infinity stone. Can’t nobody touch me now.”
Together, they’ve built a partnership grounded in growth. “We both want each other to win,” he says. “She pours into me, and I pour into her. That’s brain love, too how you love, evolve, and grow together.”
From Fashion to Healing
For Clay, fashion isn’t just about fabric it’s a vehicle for healing. “A lot of people who are insecure use fashion to express themselves,” he says. “We’re merging fashion with mental health—to break stigma and help people see more value in their minds.”
That philosophy extends beyond the runway. Brain Love teaches entrepreneurship classes at KIPP Collegiate, inspiring youth to build their own visions. “We can sell dope product and sell out collections,” Archie says, “but how are we pouring back into our kids and the communities we come from?”
It’s working. Within just two years, Brain Love launched in Bloomingdale’s, selling out its debut collection and quickly restocking. “God is steering this ship,” Archie says with conviction. “You can turn around from failure, from loss, from whatever happens. You can always bounce back.”

Redefining Luxury
Clay’s take on luxury is refreshingly revolutionary. “Luxury is the experience,” he says. “It’s not about a $600 shirt. It’s about how we make you feel. It’s the packaging, the storytelling, the service.”
He draws a parallel that’s instantly relatable: “Even Chick-fil-A gives you a luxury experience. They make you feel good that’s luxury to me.”
His mission is clear: to democratize high quality and redefine what luxury looks like for people who look like him. “We want to give luxury to people who should have luxury,” he says. “You shouldn’t have to overspend to feel worthy.”

Legacy in the Making
Archie Clay III’s story is not just about fashion it’s about faith, freedom, and the fearless pursuit of purpose. From Chattanooga to Atlanta to Bloomingdale’s, his journey is a testament to what happens when resilience meets revelation. “You can always bounce back,” he says. “You can always make your dreams come true. Two things can be true you can make money and make impact.” For Clay, Brain Love isn’t about clothes; it’s about consciousness. It’s a movement that reminds us to love our minds, honor our growth, and find joy in evolution. Every stitch carries a story of courage, every collection a call to heal. “Luxury,” he says, “is the peace of knowing who you are and showing up as that person every day.” Through his faith, his marriage, and his mission, Archie has crafted more than a brand he’s built a living philosophy that says the greatest thing you’ll ever design is yourself. Because when you love your mind, you unlock your magic and that’s where true luxury begins.
